Alice was a big help answering all my questions on email leading up for the day and helping with all the little things and queries the day before the wedding during set up.  On the day of our wedding (22/03/24) Chloe was so lovely and organised. she helped the day run smoothly and with no hiccups. And the day went by seamlessly, without a single hiccup or stutter. You made Jess and I’s day effortless. So thankyou very very much.  Jess and I would like to send special thanks to your two bar staff who were chatting to us both at the end of the night (James and Ffion), they were absolutely incredible! So many of our guests complimented them on their demeanour and joyful attitude. I’d like to thank them for their patience with our drunken guests! From the moment we Lyde Court for our viewing, we knew we had found the perfect place for us but the day itself was everything and so much more of what we could have imagined, so thanks for everything you guys did to create an incredible day for us. Thanks so much to Meg, our fantastic coordinator for the day. No request was too big or too small, and she handled everything with such kindness and made sure everything ran super smoothly. Thanks so much, Alice, for always being kind and so organised and dealing with my indecisiveness and last-minute changes! Thanks also to literally all the staff especially on the day! It’s evident that you all genuinely care about creating beautiful memories for your guests, and it truly shows. We can’t thank you all enough for making our day extra special. Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us create the wedding of our dreams. We just wanted to say a huge thank for you for everything you did to make our wedding day on Saturday absolutely perfect! We had the best day and are so grateful to the team for everything they did for us. You’ve been amazing in the run up answering all our questions and accommodating our last minute requests and changes, and the team on the day went above and beyond to look after us and make sure everything went seamlessly. Every last detail was perfect. We had so much fun going up to the top of the hill in the buggy and got some amazing photos. The food was fantastic, and a big thank you to the bar staff too for putting up with our endless baby Guinness orders! Our friends and family staying in the dorms and VIP rooms also had a brilliant time, and loved being able to just pass out at the end of the night (and regroup for a hungover breakfast the next morning!)  The day was even more brilliant than we could have imagined. Thanks again for everything! Sophie and Matt

Hello, We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone at Lyde Court for all of your help and input into our wedding. We had the most perfect day. We had zero stresses on our day. The team were fantastic throughout our planning stage and build up to the day at responding to our questions and giving us advice. A big thank you to Alice for being our coordinator. She was so helpful and always available to assist us when we needed. She got on really well with our groomsmen and ushers to help coordinate everything. Thank you to Alice for sorting out our music throughout the day. It meant we didn’t have to worry about it. We’ve had so many positive comments from our family and guests, particularly about the range of drinks available at the bar and how fantastic the bar staff were. The food was incredible; we thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea, and our evening food of fish and chips was perfect. We’ve had so many food compliments from our guests. We appreciated the range of accommodation available at Lyde. We loved our Bridal Suite, with its brilliant views to sneakily peek out at guests before the ceremony. The VIP rooms are stunning, and made our family feel special. The dormitories are excellent, and our guests had fun staying in them. The White Room is the nicest place to get ready. It is so open and spacious and has everything you need for preparing for your big day. We really enjoyed the eclectic style. We absolutely loved having our wedding at Lyde Court. There were so many extras included, such as twinkly lights, the fire pit, card box, PA system, to name just a few, which really added to our day. Our day was perfect. Lyde Court was incredible. Hello, I was at Carys and Max’s wedding on the 21st October, such a wonderful and happy occasion, but made so perfect because of the most fantastic venue that Lyde Court is – just beautiful.  Sadly it was wet for much of the time so I didn’t properly explore the grounds, but the bar, seating area and barn that we used for the ceremony, dinner and dancing were just wonderful.  In addition the staff at Lyde Court were charming and really helpful, and the meal was so well cooked and just delicious.
I was aware that you had three consecutive weddings but when we were decorating the venue on the morning of the 21st it was calm and everything so well organised by Lyde Court, and the following morning when we returned to collect various bits and pieces there was the prep going on for the next wedding, but again, everything was calm and everyone friendly and appearing unrushed.
So a glorious time was had by all, and just in the most fantastic venue – I just wanted you to know that your efforts were so appreciated and thank you to all.   Sue

We were very lucky to find you in the first place!  The planets obviously wanted it to happen. Although on the day it was baking hot, we were able to have our ceremony in the outdoors surrounded by the most beautiful nature.  That made us very happy. It is a testament to the location that everyone was wowed from the moment they stepped into the magic! We were both nervous and there was still a huge amount to think about on the day, but having everything in one place made it so much easier. For us, having Alice and Zoe as our contacts really helped. Their relaxed and informative manner gave us confidence, and they helped guide us through many of the details that otherwise would have been more problematic.  Moreover, all your staff were very friendly and showed they wanted us to have the best day imaginable. It also helped that we had acquired local suppliers who knew Lyde Court and who you could liaise with directly when needed.  It shows what can be done when the team is in place!  All our guests had the best day – and many said it was the best wedding they had ever been to too.  That had something to do with the location and amenities.  The White Room was a wonderful space to get ready, and it was fantastic to have a bridal suite as a refuge and lots of accommodation options for our guests.  Everyone was made very comfortable, even Marty, once he found his silo!  The space, staff, food and entertainment were outstanding! 😊😊 We will remember it always. We honestly feel the luckiest couple ever to have married at Lyde Court. Our day was simply beautiful and felt utterly relaxed at the hands of Lauren and Alice. They are professionally calming influences.
The venue is stunning with so much space and character to wow your guests whilst at the same time add so much for your want. All of our guests have commented on the venue, the food and the in house dj. They were so welcoming to us and our suppliers to make the day exceed our dreams.
The real Testament of the calm professionalism is, as the long waiting groom, there was a power cut just before the ceremony and I had no idea until 2 days later when I went back to collect some items and Alice told me.

What can we stay… A thank you will not be enough but it will have to do. 

We cannot thank you enough for all of the work you put into our wedding last Wednesday! It was quite simply the best day of our lives and was utterly magical, this was in no doubt down to the venue, the environment you all created, the food, the drinks and all of the staff. So many people have told us that it was the best wedding they have ever been too, we may be slightly biased but we would agree too! 

Lauren,thank you so so much for all that you did not just on the day but in the build up to it. Throughout you were so helpful and put up with all of questions, stresses and last minute changes. You are a superstar! 

To all of the staff, from set up first thing in the morning to keeping us fed and topped up we cannot thank you enough. You were so attentive friendly and welcoming! 

A huge thanks to the catering staff, not only was the food bloody fantastic but you were also wonderful bunch of humanbeings! The meat feast was spot on and everything about it was amazing as we’re the pizzas! The breakfast, wow, it was the ultimate hangover cure and was amazing! Thank you all for everything!

Gary, what a legend! You have created a magical place to get married and have such a tightly run ship of wonderful staff! Also thank you for taking Emily flying, we thought the wedding was the highlight of her year but apparently flying topped that so thank you!

There was always some anxiety in the run up (thanks Boris!), but you were so helpful and guided us through it all amazingly. We can’t thank you enough, and all our guests are singing yours and everyone else’s praises! 
The day was better than we could have ever imagined, and that was largely due to the team at Lyde Court. From making sure we were on time (although I still managed to make us late 😂) to keeping guests fed and watered, it was brilliant from the start to the end!

Everyone we met during the day and day before at Lyde Court were just lovely, including the caterers, bar staff and everyone else that helped, you all couldn’t do more for us and our guests. The food was delicious and we had so much praise from our guests for how tasty it all was, the guests with food allergies were very happy as well!! The breakfast was also a big hit, just what we needed after all of the dancing & Prosecco!!
The barn and gardens looked stunning, everyone couldn’t believe we had found such a quirky, scenic, beautiful venue. Although we didn’t have the ceremony on the front lawn as we had planned, the rose barn was perfect and intimate and I’m so glad we ended up in there – We can thank the rain for that!!

Firstly, Lee and I just wanted to thank you all for your help in organising Ellie and Matthew’s special day on Saturday. It was a wonderful day and Lyde Court is a fabulous venue. It all went so smoothly and was absolutely perfect in every way!

This is a note to say a very big thank you to you and the team at Lyde Court for the part you played in helping Matt and Ellie’s wedding go so well on 29th December.

The venue is stunning ( we knew that ), the weather was incredibly kind (we were very grateful for that ), but as always, it is the people who really make an occasion memorable and special.
So a huge thank you to you Vicky, and the whole team, for your help when little Sebastian fell on the Saturday morning and needed a trip to hospital to fix his nose, for great communication around the timings on the day , and keeping me on the straight and narrow with my MC duties and for the professionalism and good humour of the serving staff . A special mention to the breakfast team who looked after us so well and cooked 5 fresh breakfasts for some late comers in the morning.
You really did all play a big part in helping the day to go so well and thank you so much for that.

Lyde Court is a stone barn wedding venue with ceremonies outside and inside being possible. The barns date from the 17th Century, and are completely unspoilt, with stone walls, vaulted ceilings, beams, galleries and arrow-slit windows. It all makes for a very rustic and atmospheric setting! Especially when you add in candles, mismatched antique furniture, and all your own decorations that you would like to add to your wedding day styling. The gardens of the house itself are available for photographs, and the fields all around give fantastic views over the Herefordshire countryside. There are other barns and an oast house as well as the main house too. It’s amazing to think you are only 2 miles from the centre of Hereford, in this idyllic rural hideaway. Gary and the team at Lyde Court give you huge flexibility to create your own wedding day however you want and are always on hand to help. Lyde Court wedding venue in Hereford really is a fabulous fun venue that I love to shoot at.

Our wedding day was THE happiest day of our lives and we couldn’t have done it without the support of the wonderful staff at Lyde Court. The venue is absolutely incredible, we fell in love with it within minutes of arriving. Everything we asked for was accommodated and we were treated like royalty. Our wedding coordinator Ellie was the most amazing person- and we felt so comfortable knowing she had a handle on absolutely everything. Lyde Court is magical and we couldn’t recommend it enough. Alix was a brilliant help throughout the planning and we are fully aware of how many times we threw awkward requests your way!

On the day itself, Mollie, Vicky and Gary were always on hand to help with anything we needed and this was so much appreciated.

“My new wife Prita and I want to say a huge thank you for everything you guys did this Saturday and over the last 12 months. We had the best day, and everything when pretty much to plan. We have been looking forward to this for so long, knowing how amazing the venue is and looking forward to seeing the reaction of our guests when they saw the barn. And as we expected they all loved it so much. A lot of our family friends are used to hotel weddings, as generally Arabic people go for these, so we knew this would be something knew for them and they couldn’t tell us enough how much the liked the venue! The food was great too, and the organisation in the day was seamless. If i needed you guys you were there and that put Prita and I at ease. Nothing seemed too much for you. We slipped into the barn on Sunday late morn after everyone was gone and took a few selfies of us in there, it was actually quite emotional knowing it was over and Lyde was no longer ours!! Anyway, you guys have been brilliant. A huge thank you to all the staff at Lyde Court for making our February fund raiser ball such a success.The team listened to our needs, understood what we needed to achieve, and attended to every detail We have been overwhelmed with compliments re the venue itself and the catering – which was superb. And all our guests have said what a great venue it was too. I finally got round to editing some drone footage, and put it on my YouTube channel, it was a bit of a grey day, but hopefully you’ll enjoy it/find some use for it (let me know if you want the original files sent over). This allowed us to just relax and simply enjoy our day, which we greatly did. Lyde Court was everything we could have asked for and our guests readily agreed. Many have commented on how beautiful the venue looked and the vast outdoor space was great for our younger guests to run around in and explore. The food, both vegetarian and meat options, were delicious, the wine gorgeous and the evening buffet was devoured even after all the other food consumed! We also greatly enjoyed exploring the grounds with our photographer and using the environment to snap our pictures. Breakfast the day after was lovely and a wonderful way to reflect our previous day. Again, the staff member that cooked our breakfast, George, was most hospitable and helpful! We could not think of any way for you to improve! “We recently performed at Lyde Court for Dave & Jo’s wedding reception and had an awesome night! From the minute we arrived the staff were on hand to update us on the timings and guide us round the venue. They were super organised, polite and professional, which makes a change from some venues we perform at where the band can sometimes be looked down upon. The venue is beautifully decorated and equipped with a top end sound and light system, which makes our job a lot easier and means we can have a much faster turnaround from when we arrive at the venue to getting on stage. This may sound insignificant but as many weddings run over it can make getting the timings back on track a lot quicker! I think that how the band is treated at a venue says a lot about the venues general approach, I imagine that if the band are treated courteously, that the clients must be treated like royalty! Lyde Court, what can I say… The venue was everything I dreamed of, and like no other venue I have seen. It’s relaxed, stylish, unique and a little bit bonkers, which was just what I wanted! As soon as I saw Lyde Court and met Gary (who is epic!), I knew I wanted to get married there!!!! Being a wedding photographer myself, I see A LOT of wedding venues, but Lyde Court has something special! Lyde Court really stood out from the crowd !!!!!

9th July 2014 – Film – 5 Years in the Fifties, the Frank Dale Collection

“This is just to thank you for such a wonderful evening at Lyde Court yesterday. The setting was perfect, the weather helped and everything looked marvellous – the magnificent building and everything looking so neat and tidy and well cared for.

I could tell it was the first time at Lyde for many people – you knew by the way they walked in, looking around them and then often asking where they should go to see the film. And they were very impressed, even before they had seen the film. So that was the best possible start we could have had.

We were delighted that there were at least six members of the Dale family there, including two of his great-granddaughters – and a cousin who had come over from Moreton-in-Marsh. It was such a happy evening of family reunions.

As for the film itself, it was technically complicated with the music, film and commentary all having to be interwoven so that the audience could see, hear and understand……….
and it worked like a dream!

“Thank you so much for organising such a wonderful event.I’ve often longed to go to Glyndebourne, but dismissed the idea because it would be too difficult, too expensive, too long a journey, too “stuffy” – and as my husband has a profound hearing loss and can no longer (to his great regret) appreciate and decipher music, it would be a waste of our joint energy and resources. Now I needn’t think of that anymore. No Glyndebourne wishful thinking –we have opera in an amazing setting here. We’ve had opera beautifully sung by excellent professionals at Lyde Court. What a harmonious atmosphere you create. How well organised – from Maddy’s enthusiastic and friendly phone conversation when I rang up to enquire, to the moment of our welcome by your very pleasant car park attendant and smiling bar staff.
AND my husband thoroughly enjoyed it! The company’s energetic and superb acting, which was so audience inclusive…………….he laughed so much when Despina tickled his nose with her feather duster………….and of course there was the screen up front with all its funny commentary to keep him in the picture and tell him what it was all about. Needless to say we were all grateful for that ,most of your audience not being fluent in Italian! As an amateur singer for many years, I was truly immensely impressed by the technique, voice production and also acting abilities and agility of such excellent professionals. What a successful evening.
I would certainly like to “spread the word” about how good it was and will put a note in the Early Music Forum newsletter. Do you advertise at the Cathedral? I no longer sing with the Choral Society or Three Choirs Festival, but I will certainly tell all whom I meet that Pop-up Opera is great and to watch out for its return (I hope) to Lyde Court.

21st Birthday Party

“We held our Daughters 21st birthday party here, and I cannot stress enough how helpful, friendly & relaxed Gary and Karen were. Nothing was too much trouble and they let us use whomever we wanted, in the end, we used two different caterers and Karen filled in the gaps with some good quality vegetarian & vegan dishes for just a few of our guests.

We sent two days decorating the barn, and again Gary and his team were happy to help or make suggestions, he even managed to track down two specific Real Ales that I wanted to be served.

Our 180 guests all commented on the warm candle lit atmosphere of the barn, which lends its self to be the ideal venue for parties. There is plenty of room for dancing without having to move the tables and chairs around, and the acoustics are excellent, with no rebound off the back wall. You could hear the band clearly with the added bonus that around the corner you could talk without having to shout. And there is a good sized low stage with a well-tuned piano available.

The bar area with its suspended low ceiling gives a cosy rural pub-like feel to it when you walk in, plus it creates an upstairs platform which acts as a cosy snug for the less energetic partygoers.

The outside was well lit and there was a Kadai (Fire Bowl) burning which was very welcoming when you walked in, not only does it look great but apparently acts as a focal point for the smokers among us, to visit periodically thought out the evening to have a chat and stay warm.

I can’t believe this place has only been open for 9 months, there’s something new every time I visit. The only negative point I can think of, is that they need some more ladies loos, but Gary assures me that this is at the top of his “To Do List” and he hopes to have them in place by this spring. The Ladies Loos are now fully functional (Gary)

Pop Up Opera at Lyde Court It was smiles all round in the sunshine on Friday 25th May at Lyde Court. As people flooded into the courtyard from 4:30pm there were gasps of surprise at the sheer beauty of the barn and lawn in the sunshine. The smell of stone baked pizzas and sounds of jazz music and laughter only heightened the sense of excitement for the main event. The Arts Alive groupies, opera fans, locals and friends gathered eagerly to take their seats and as the show got underway everyone was drawn in by the voices, the humour and comedy of the characters. Pop Up Opera were a joy to watch and a brilliant new take on opera. If they pop back to Arts Alive be sure not to miss out! Eleanor Brick – Arts Alive
