Lyde Court dates back to the 14th Century and is part of the vast Duchy of Cornwall Estate. Set in a private and isolated Herefordshire valley, yet only 2 miles from Hereford City centre. Our weddings take place in the Barns which are adjacent to the main house and gardens. The 17th Century Stone Barns have undergone minimal changes in 400 years and are completely unspoilt. The stone walls, elm beams, vaulted ceilings and arrow slit windows give a wonderful ambience and provide the perfect venue for a romantic wedding.
A beautiful Wedding venue within easy reach of Worcester, Kidderminster, Bewdley, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Droitwich Spa, Stourport on Severn, Pershore, Evesham, Upton upon Severn and Great Malvern.
An informal and relaxed location
The stone Tithe barns allow you to create your perfect day without the restraints imposed by large hotels or corporate venues. From small intimate weddings with 25 guests through to large gatherings of 250 people we have the perfect venue. All weddings have exclusive use of the venue.
Make the most of your special day.
The lawn in front of the house is perfect for a Champagne reception with canapes, with perhaps a Jazz band, classical guitarist or string quartet playing. With beautiful 360 degree countryside views the country gardens are a wonderful backdrop for those special wedding photographs.

Lyde Court’s Great Barn
You have the flexibility to choose and organise your own entertainment but we can also recommend tried and tested musicians and groups to suit your requirements. Whether your style is a Jazz quintet, folk group, a local ceilidh band, string quartet, covers band or disco we can arrange suitable entertainment for your celebrations.
Wedding and Event Venue
A licensed bar run by friendly and experienced staff will look after you throughout the celebrations.
Our licenced hours are 2am for Friday and Saturday weddings and midnight for Sunday to Thursday weddings. For residents a 24hr licence applies.
The party can spill out into the lawned courtyard and adjoining walled garden which are atmospherically lit in the evening. This area provides the perfect setting for an evening pig roast or barbeque.
Accommodation includes double, family rooms and dormitory style accommodation in both Lyde Court itself and in the recently converted Oast House. Guests are also welcome to camp on site or bring their motorhome if preferred. Non-resident guests are welcome to join the wedding party for breakfast the following morning. Winter Weddings
Lyde Court provides a wonderful setting for a Winter or Christmas Wedding. The barn is heated during the cooler weather and is beautifully warm and cosy even when the weather is at it’s worst. We do not charge for heating the barn.
The barn is traditionally decorated throughout the festive season.
Late Availability
Lyde Court is the ideal venue for late availability weddings in Hereford, if you decide to get married with just a few weeks notice.
