We are absolutely thrilled to share that Lyde Court Café has been shortlisted for the ‘New Tourism Business of the Year’ at the Visit Herefordshire Tourism Awards 2025!
Since opening our doors in September 2024, Lyde Court Café has blossomed into so much more than a café. Nestled just two miles from Hereford city centre, yet surrounded by unspoilt countryside, our aim has always been to create a warm, inclusive, and creative space for both locals and visitors.
Milestones
In less than a year, we’ve:
✨ Welcomed over 25,000 visitors through our doors
✨ Hosted more than 100 events, from live music and cinema nights to artisan markets and family workshops
✨ Grown a vibrant online community with thousands of followers joining our journey
None of this would be possible without our hardworking team who pour their energy and creativity into every aspect of Lyde Court Café. From themed markets and imaginative activities for children, to the kitchen and bar staff who keep everyone so well fed and watered — every member of the team plays a vital role in creating the welcoming atmosphere our guests love.
Lyde Court's Transformation
Owners Gary and Karen Waring’s dedication and vision has been central to Lyde Court’s transformation, together with Polly, who leads the kitchen with passion and flair, ensuring that our food is as memorable as our events.
As Gary and Karen put it:

Polly, who heads up the kitchen, adds:
“ Food brings people together, and it’s a joy to see guests enjoying everything from hearty brunches to afternoon teas in such a special setting. Our kitchen team works so hard behind the scenes to make every plate memorable, and this shortlisting feels like a celebration of that effort.”
Ethos
What sets us apart is our ethos. Lyde Court Café is built on community, creativity and sustainability. From planting wildflower meadows and creating habitats for wildlife, to planning the introduction of gender-neutral facilities and developing quiet sessions for neurodiverse visitors, we’re committed to making our new tourism business here in Herefordshire both regenerative and inclusive.

This award shortlisting is a testament to the team’s hard work, the loyalty of our guests and the magic that surrounds Lyde Court itself. Whether you’ve joined us for a dog-friendly brunch, danced at one of our live gigs, or rolled in for one of our biker nights, you’ve helped make this recognition possible.
We’ll be keeping everything crossed that we walk away with the New Tourism Business award in February 2026, but for now, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey so far. Lyde Court Café is here to stay – and we’re only just getting started!
