LYDE COURT CAFÉ
A rustic Café, Bar & Coffee Spot in Hereford
Latest updates
Lyde Court Café sits inside a 17th-century beamed barn on the Duchy of Cornwall Estate, two miles north of Hereford city centre. It’s a place people come to on purpose — for James Gourmet coffee, a relaxed lunch, live music, open gardens to wander, and a setting that doesn’t look like anywhere else near Hereford.
The barn is candlelit throughout. Sofas, long tables, exposed timber and stone walls. Outside, the open gardens and surrounding Herefordshire countryside unfold into footpaths, wildflower meadows and rolling views. Walkers, cyclists, motorcyclists and families arrive from the footpaths and country lanes. Dogs are always welcome — inside and out.
Shortlisted for New Tourism Business of the Year at the Herefordshire Tourism Awards 2025.
We serve locally roasted James Gourmet coffee from Ross-on-Wye alongside a full food menu, bar drinks, and weekly homemade cake specials. Many dishes are made in-house using herbs, spices, and seasonal vegetables from the Lyde Court Potager garden where possible.
Lyde Court Café is family friendly, offering a kids menu, highchairs, and a fully stocked bar serving wines, cocktails, beers, and drinks alongside coffee and homemade food.

Dogs and Families welcome
Lyde Court is surrounded by footpaths and open countryside — arriving from a walk, with a dog, in muddy boots, is exactly what the café is set up for. Dogs are welcome inside the barn and throughout the grounds, with water bowls, outdoor shade and puppuccinos available on request.
Families are equally at home here. There’s a dedicated kids menu, highchairs throughout, and enough space — indoors and out — that children can move around without anyone minding. A regular favourite for families looking for things to do near Hereford at the weekend.
